Gordon Ramsay to Piers Morgan: ‘Go fuck yourself’

Not long ago, after seeing a tweet from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay promoting a new vegan roast dinner available at his restaurant, Bread Street Kitchen, blowhard daytime talk show host and Donald Trump supporter Piers Morgan put in his two cents, describing the dish as “utterly revolting.”

Ramsay’s response? “Go fuck yourself.”

Ramsay made the sharp rejoinder during an appearance on the Late Late Show With James Cordon. Asked by the host for his thoughts on Morgan’s take, Ramsay chuckled. “So Piers Morgan is now a food critic? Go and fuck yourself,” he said, adding, “Seriously? Really?” Ramsay, who has been a virulent critic of vegan diets for years, went on to admit:

“Veganism in on the rise … So yeah, we have to eat a slice of humble pie.”

The TV chef’s about-face may come as a surprise to those who watched his show, given that he has previously claimed to be allergic to vegans. He once claimed: “If one of my daughters’ boyfriends turns out to be vegetarian, I swear to God I’d never forgive them.” Elsewhere he bizarrely said that he would murder his children if any of them became vegetarian. “If the kids ever came up to me and said, ‘Dad, I’m a vegetarian,’ then I would sit them on the fence and electrocute them.”

In 2013, Ramsay was lambasted by British singer Morrissey after the former used a Smiths song, “Please, please, please let me get what I want,” in an advert for his “Christmas Cookalong Live.” TV station Channel 4, where the ad aired, settled with the former Smiths frontman for $14,800.

“Ramsay may very well stick his head in his microwave when he hears that the money I received from Channel 4 … is being donated to PETA to fight foie gras,” Morrissey said in a statement. “Foie gras is so cruelly produced that he’d be against it if he had an ethical bone in his body.”

Piers Morgan is known in the United States for his failed program on CNN, Piers Morgan Live, which was canceled in 2014 due to poor ratings.
